COE Participation

Identified 17 opportunities for county education and health departments to apply for grant funding or invest in data collection tools to better support student social emotional learning, mental health, and wellbeing. Of the 58 counties, a total of 9 counties (Butte, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Santa Clara, Shasta, Ventura, and Yolo) have 9 or more grants/survey tools.

Humboldt county is an early adopter and consistent recipient of grants in all social sectors (education, health, mental health, and social services). The county participates in the following:

  • California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS)

  • CalHope

  • Cal-Well (SAMHSA)

  • Community Schools, Planning

  • Mental Health Services Act (MHSA)

  • Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Triage (Bridges to Success Program)

  • Mental Health Student Services Act (MHSSA) Round One

  • ACEs Aware


Note: While Humboldt County has not received an MTSS grant at the county, there is a large concentration of districts in the region (50%) participating in the MTSS program.
